Ian McKellen is a con artist trying to extort money as a wealthy widow Helen Mirren in this thriller that is carried by the charisma of the central performances. This makes the film very watchable but somewhat uneventful for the first two acts. Then the third act happens. I’ve never seen a third act that simultaneously stupidly obvious with its twists and yet absolutely insane in terms of how it gets there. It has to be seen to be believed. The film is worth a rental or stream to to see how bonkers this third act gets but it doesn’t have a great deal to offer beyond the star power at it’s centre.
